Overview
The Bell 407 is a single-turbine light helicopter. A single engine lowers purchase and operating cost; in exchange, autorotation is the only option after an engine failure, and that constrains flight profiles.
A four-blade main rotor produces a smoother vibration character than two-blade arrangements. Cabin comfort and the usability of sensitive equipment such as cameras depend directly on that vibration level.
What defines the model's place in the civil market is mission variety: the same platform can be equipped for air taxi, patient transfer, fire watch or news gathering. A modular interior is the technical expression of that flexibility.
