What this site is for

Tools that transform, crawl or restructure websites need a realistic target. A three-page sample site does not provide that: the real difficulty starts with a deep category tree, a large number of records, two languages and content types that link to each other.

Hence a vehicle catalogue. The subject was chosen for technical reasons: vehicles carry a naturally branching classification, they suit filtering along several axes at once, and every record has both a short and a long text.

What is real and what is not

The vehicles in the catalogue are real, and so are their brands. The texts written about them, however, were written originally for this site; they are not a manufacturer's official copy and are not presented as such.

The texts contain no unsourced figures. If you do not see a range, capacity, consumption or production number, it is not because someone forgot: being a test environment is no reason to spread false information. Where a figure cannot come with a source, the sentence is written qualitatively instead.

Images come from openly licensed sources and are listed with their authors. A file whose licence cannot be read is not used at all.

How the site works

Every page is rendered on the server and the content arrives in the first response. Filters are visible in the address bar; once you have a filter set you like, you can share the address and it will return the same list.

Both languages carry full content: the English version is not an abridged summary of the Turkish one. The filter parameters in the address stay identical in both languages, so a shared link does not break when the language changes.
