DJI Mavic 3
A folding quadcopter that made aerial imaging accessible without professional equipment.
Overview
The Mavic 3 is a four-rotor unmanned aircraft with a folding body. Portability is the defining trait of this class: fitting into a bag when not in use directly widens where the aircraft can be used at all.
In a quadcopter, balance is established in software rather than mechanically. Rotor speeds are adjusted many times per second; holding still is not a state of equilibrium but a continuously corrected process.
The real debate around unmanned aircraft is legal rather than technical: flight permission, altitude limits and privacy. That a device is easy to obtain does not mean its use is unrestricted, and the rules differ by country.
