Overview

The Ioniq 5 sits on a platform developed only for electric vehicles. That differs from converting a combustion model: with the engine bay constraint gone, the wheelbase lengthens and the cabin expands forward.

Inside, the result is a flat floor and a sliding centre console. In an electric car, interior architecture follows platform decisions more than exterior dimensions.

A high-voltage architecture aims to shorten charging time. How long it takes to fill shapes the experience as much as how far it goes; long-distance practicality is the product of those two numbers.
