Trawler
A fishing vessel whose deck is designed not as a cargo area but as a processing line.
Overview
A trawler is a fishing vessel that catches by towing a net through the water. The deck layout is built around shooting and hauling that net; winches, ramps and blocks form the vessel's real architecture.
Chilling and storage capacity determine how long a trip can last. In fishing, ship design is as much about landing the catch unspoiled as about catching it.
These are also among the most heavily regulated marine vehicles: mesh size, catch quotas and position-reporting requirements shape the design directly.
