The Lion's City is a city bus built for public transport. What governs design here is the stop rather than the journey: door count, door width and floor height affect a route's real speed more than seat comfort does.
A low-floor arrangement makes wheelchair and pram access possible without steps. The engineering price is relocating drivetrain and axles; accessibility here is an architectural decision, not an item of equipment.
City buses spend most of the day in stop-start operation. That means unusual wear in brakes and drivetrain, so service intervals and parts availability weigh as heavily in a purchase as fuel consumption.
