Mercedes-Benz Sprinter
A panel van: a vehicle type sold as empty volume and shaped afterwards by its buyer's work.
Overview
The Sprinter is a commercial vehicle in the panel van layout, joining cargo volume to the cab. What distinguishes the type is that the manufacturer deliberately leaves the job unfinished: the vehicle ships as an empty box and the buyer defines its use.
The same body can become a courier vehicle, a mobile workshop, an ambulance or a camper. That is why chassis variants, roof heights and wheelbases sit at the centre of the catalogue — the options are the actual product.
In load-carrying vehicles, driving character changes with load. An empty panel van has a light rear axle, and suspension tuning rests on an assumption about the load the vehicle will spend most of its life carrying.
