Overview

A motorhome joins the driver's cab and the living area in one body. That union brings two engineering cultures face to face: the vehicle wants to shed weight, the dwelling wants insulation and storage.

Water, electrical and waste systems bring the vehicle closer to a building, yet all of them must withstand vibration and temperature swings while moving. Problems solved in fixed structures are reopened here.

The real constraint of a motorhome is weight distribution. As water tanks fill, the centre of gravity shifts; suspension tuning and loading instructions are therefore a safety matter rather than a comfort one.
